Coach Terms & Conditions
These Coach Terms & Conditions apply specifically to coaches using the Train My Game platform to deliver training programs and collect payments from players. These terms supplement the general Terms of Service.
1. Eligibility
To register as a coach on the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal right to work and conduct business in Australia (or your country of residence)
- Hold any qualifications, certifications, or working-with-children clearances required by law for your sport and the age group of your players
- Agree to these Coach Terms and the general Terms of Service
By registering as a coach, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. Train My Game Pty Ltd reserves the right to request evidence of qualifications or clearances at any time.
2. Stripe Connect & Payments
To collect payments from players through the Platform, you must connect a Stripe account. By doing so, you agree to:
- Complete Stripe's identity verification and onboarding process
- Be bound by the Stripe Connect Account Agreement
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding the collection of payments from clients
- Ensure your Stripe account remains in good standing throughout your use of the Platform
You are the merchant of record. Athlete payments are charged directly to your connected Stripe account. This means:
- Funds are yours from the moment of payment. Train My Game Pty Ltd never holds, controls, or has access to your funds.
- Your business name appears on the athlete's or parent's card statement.
- You bear Stripe's payment processing fees, which are deducted from each payment in addition to the TMG platform fee.
- You are responsible for refunds and chargebacks. A refund or disputed payment is debited from your Stripe balance, together with any dispute fee Stripe charges. Where your balance is insufficient, Stripe may debit your linked bank account.
- Payouts are made by Stripe directly to your nominated bank account on the schedule set in your Stripe account.
TMG's platform fee is collected as an application fee on each payment.
3. Platform Fees
Train My Game charges a percentage-based platform fee on payments collected from athletes through the Platform. There is no monthly or annual subscription fee at any roster size.
Your fee is a single blended rate, computed from the number of athletes holding an active subscription to you across the following bands:
| Band | Athletes | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1–5 | 22% on your whole roster |
| Growth | 6–15 | 17% on your whole roster |
| Pro | athletes 16–30 | 12% |
| Elite | athletes 31 and beyond | 7% |
With 1–5 active athletes, the platform fee is 22% of each payment. From your 6th active athlete, your entire roster is charged at 17%. Beyond 15 athletes the bands are marginal: the Pro and Elite rates apply only to the athletes in those bands, and your effective fee is one blended percentage — the roster-weighted average of the bands — applied equally to every active subscription. For a roster of n athletes (n > 5), the blended rate is [min(n, 15) × 17% + min(max(n − 15, 0), 15) × 12% + max(n − 30, 0) × 7%] ÷ n, rounded down to two decimal places — you are never charged above the published formula.
One blended rate for your whole roster. No athlete is assigned to a band: every active subscription is charged at the same blended percentage, which improves as your roster grows. As examples, the blended rate is 17% at 6–15 athletes, 15.75% at 20, 14.50% at 30 and 12.62% at 40.
Your platform fee is capped. The platform fee on any single active subscription is capped at AUD $10.00 per athlete per week (scaled pro-rata for other billing intervals — see section 4). Where the blended percentage would take more than the cap, the fee is reduced to the cap. As a worked example: on a $110.00 weekly subscription at a 22% blended rate, the uncapped fee would be $24.20; the fee charged is $10.00 (an effective rate of 9.09%). The percentage applied is rounded down to two decimal places, so the fee charged is never above the cap. The cap applies to the platform fee on subscriptions only — it does not apply to the per-booking fee for one-off session bookings, and Stripe's processing fees (section 2) remain separate.
Rates are assessed daily. A rate improvement (your roster grew) takes effect from your athletes' next billing date. A rate increase (your roster shrank) takes effect only after your athlete count has remained below its previous level for 30 consecutive days, so ordinary roster fluctuation will not increase your rate.
Stripe's payment processing fees are separate, are borne by you as merchant of record (see section 2), and are deducted in addition to the platform fee. As worked examples at Stripe's standard Australian domestic card rate (1.75% + A$0.30): a $25.00 weekly payment lands approximately $18.76 in your account with 5 active athletes (22%), $20.01 with 10 (17%), $20.32 with 20 (blended 15.75%) and $21.11 with 40 (blended 12.62%).
We may adjust this fee schedule with at least 30 days' written notice.
4. Setting Your Athlete Rate
You set the weekly amount your athletes pay. The minimum is AUD $20 per week per athlete; there is no maximum. You may set a different rate for each athlete.
Where subscriptions are offered on a billing interval other than weekly, the minimum rate and the fee cap in section 3 both scale pro-rata to that interval.
Changing an athlete's rate applies to their next subscription. It does not alter the amount currently being charged to an existing subscription.
Changing an athlete's membership tier is different. Where an athlete holds a membership on one of your tiers, you may move them to another of your tiers without cancelling it. The change takes effect at the start of their next billing period — never part-way through a period they have already paid for. They keep everything their current membership includes until that date. No part of a paid period is forfeited, and no period is charged twice.
Where the change increases what the athlete pays, or reduces the number of sessions their membership includes, it takes effect no sooner than 7 days after we notify them; if their next billing period would begin sooner than that, the change moves to the following one. Any other change takes effect at the start of their next billing period.
We email the athlete and their parent or guardian when you make the change, stating what is changing and the date it applies. You remain responsible for discussing any change with them beforehand.
You cannot change the tier of a membership that is already scheduled to end, or one sold for a fixed term.
You are responsible for communicating your rate and any change to it to your athletes and their parents or guardians.
5. Player Data & Parental Consent
Before adding any player under the age of 18 to the Platform, you must obtain written consent from that player's parent or legal guardian. This consent must cover the collection, storage, and use of the player's personal data on the Platform.
As a coach, you are responsible for:
- Obtaining and retaining records of parental/guardian consent for all minor players
- Ensuring player data is used only for legitimate coaching and development purposes
- Complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Australian Privacy Principles, and any applicable state legislation
- Notifying Train My Game immediately if you become aware of any breach of player data
- Deleting or requesting deletion of player data when your coaching relationship with a player ends
You indemnify Train My Game against any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from your failure to obtain appropriate consent or comply with applicable privacy laws.
6. Professional Conduct
You agree to conduct yourself professionally and in accordance with the standards expected of a qualified sports coach. You must not:
- Engage in, facilitate, or condone any form of abuse, harassment, or discrimination toward players
- Use the Platform to contact players for any purpose unrelated to their coaching and development
- Make false or misleading representations about your qualifications, experience, or the nature of your services
- Use the Platform to promote competing services or solicit players away from other coaches on the Platform
Train My Game Pty Ltd reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where conduct falls below these standards, without liability to the coach.
7. Intellectual Property
Training programs, drills, session content, and other materials you create on the Platform remain your intellectual property. You grant Train My Game a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process your content solely to provide the Platform services.
You must not upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, or that is unlawful, harmful, or offensive.
8. Termination
You may cancel your coach account at any time. Upon cancellation:
- Your athletes' subscriptions are not cancelled automatically. You must cancel them yourself, through your Stripe dashboard or by contacting us. Athletes will otherwise continue to be billed.
- Athletes associated with your account lose access to the training programs you assigned them. Their own logged training history is retained in their account.
- You remain responsible for any refunds, chargebacks or obligations outstanding at the time of closure.
- Amounts already earned are paid out by Stripe on its normal schedule.
Train My Game may terminate your coach account immediately for breach of these terms, non-payment, fraudulent activity, or conduct harmful to players or the Platform.
9. Working With Children
Before using the Platform to coach players under the age of 18, you must hold a current Working With Children Check (or equivalent clearance) as required by the laws of your state or territory. By registering as a coach and adding minor players to your account, you represent and warrant that you hold a valid clearance. Train My Game Pty Ltd reserves the right to request evidence of your clearance at any time and to suspend your account if a valid clearance cannot be confirmed.
10. Independent Contractor
Coaches using the Train My Game platform are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of Train My Game Pty Ltd. Nothing in these terms creates any employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and Train My Game.
You are solely responsible for your own tax obligations, insurance, and compliance with any laws applicable to your coaching business.
